Research Project Manager I

Under the direction of Principal Investigators and senior research leadership, the Research Project Manager I will coordinate day-to-day operations of epidemiologic research studies and related projects. This individual will oversee project timelines, facilitate collaboration among investigators and research partners, monitor study progress, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to successful completion of research goals and sponsor deliverables.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate the implementation and execution of research projects.

- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and tracking systems.

- Monitor project activities and proactively identify risks, barriers, and opportunities for improvement.

- Organize and facilitate project meetings, including preparation of agendas, meeting materials, and follow-up action items.

- Track project deliverables and ensure completion according to sponsor and institutional requirements.

- Coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, continuing reviews, amendments, and reporting.

- Monitor adherence to human subjects protections and institutional policies.

- Support data-sharing agreements and collaborative research documentation, as appropriate.

- Coordinate communications with academic partners, consortium members, and community stakeholders.

- Prepare project summaries, presentations, and progress updates for investigators and sponsors.

- Support dissemination activities, including scientific meetings, publications, and stakeholder presentations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience.

- Minimum of three years project/study management experience with a master's degree or five years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree, in a research setting.

- Experience supporting epidemiologic, population health, cancer prevention, or clinical research studies.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- Grant and contract experience.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong supervisory skills and budgeting experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or related discipline.

- Two years of experience coordinating public health, healthcare, academic, or operational projects.

- Experience with IRB processes and human subjects research regulations.

- Knowledge of epidemiologic study designs, research data collection, and scientific publication processes.

- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,475 to $120,682, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
