Sr Production Control Analyst

How will you make an impact?
As a Sr Production Control Analyst, you will be responsible for controlling production batches and serving as a key interface between Planning, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing. You will ensure the appropriate mix and quantity of products are produced to support finished goods production plans while minimizing overproduction, excess inventory, and material liability.
In this role, you will monitor production performance, proactively address schedule and material issues, and drive improvements that support customer commitments, inventory optimization, and overall Supply Chain performance.
What will you do?
- Work with Planning and Inventory Control to minimize excess inventory on the production line, including semi-finished goods and raw materials.
- Lead order-processing activities for major customer units.
- Advise non-exempt associates regarding day-to-day priorities for customer requests.
- Monitor and proactively address issues that impact performance to Committed Ship Date (CSD), lead time, response time, and inventory goals.
- Coordinate with the Master Scheduler to manage product life cycles and related material availability issues.
- Drive process improvements within and outside the area of Order Management.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and approve product releases to production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
- Supervise production launches, eliminations, and engineering changes to ensure production plans comply with customer deliverables while avoiding material obsolescence and unnecessary intermediate storage.
- Support banking and buffering activities associated with volume changes.
- Maintain daily communication with supervisors and production leaders to monitor production plans and ensure effective execution.
- Serve as a key link between Master Planning, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing to support accurate production plan execution and fulfillment.
- Provide input to management and coordinate rescheduling activities in response to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
- Interface with Customer Program Management, Master Scheduling, customers, and Production Control as needed to address production schedule changes.
- Support inventory control, Supply Chain Management, material planning, and scheduling activities as required.
- Continuously improve production control processes and the performance of Work-in-Process Days Inventory on Hand (WIP DII) and other Materials Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in a Materials, Production Control, Planning, Inventory Control, or related function.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes.
- Experience coordinating production schedules, material availability, and inventory requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to support business goals and objectives.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to achieve operational targets.
- Advanced PC skills, including proficiency with Jabil software packages and Microsoft Windows-based applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to monitor production performance and identify issues that may affect customer commitments, lead times, capacity, or inventory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with Planning, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Master Scheduling, Customer Program Management, and other cross-functional teams.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and visual aids.
- Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal effectively with problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, proportions, and other business-related calculations.
- Ability to compute and interpret data, graphs, and production metrics.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities and respond effectively to changing production and customer requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Inventory Control preferred.
- Experience with production control, material planning, or scheduling in an electronics manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience working with WIP inventory and Materials KPIs preferred.
