Manufacturing Quality Control Technician

Duncansville and Tipton locations. 1st Shift 7am-330pm.

New Pig Corporation, a leader in providing environmental and safety solutions for companies throughout the world, is seeking a smart, enthusiastic, and self-motivated person to join our award-winning manufacturing quality control team.   The associate in this role will be a valuable go-to resource to generate and respond to quality concerns associated with the manufacturing process.  This role includes a high percentage of hands-on work in addition to planning and reporting. This person should have a continuous improvement way of thinking, always looking to improve methods, processes and procedures.  This role will be a leading voice of the company to help promote a quality culture within the organization.  This position will be working out of both our Duncansville location and our Tipton location.  The ability to work at both is required.

Primary Responsibilities : (80% of your time)

- Respond to all production and material quality issues and quickly determine immediate action to keep production activities moving
- Follow up on quality issues to determine root cause, disposition, future resolution and documentation
- Report on quality issues during daily production team meetings for visibility and further action
- Elevate non-conforming issues with Production, Engineering and Maintenance
- Perform incoming inspection and first inspection to ensure quality specifications are met in addition to documentation and updates to the Quality System including new product procedures and work instructions
- Support a Quality First Culture by performing new employee Quality training including the development of a Quality Culture communication program
- Manage and update the training schedule and completion for all production employees
- Conduct product and process audits at all work centers to ensure compliance with requirements
- Conduct inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure conformance to quality standards

Secondary Responsibilities : (20% of your time)

- Work within the quality system to ensure manufacturing production teams have accurate specifications and instructions to produce items that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations
- Analyze data and generate reports to identify trends and opportunities for quality improvements
- Help with communication and training on the production floor associated with approved ECNs
- Lead Root Cause Investigations and participate in Corrective Action Implementations for internal and supplier quality spills
- Provide support for external customer complaints as needed
- Provide support for internal and external audits as needed

Requirements :

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in quality control or technical environment is a plus!
- Mathematical skills (calculations, analysis, spreadsheets)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient in using measurement and testing equipment as well as data analysis tools
- Ability to learn new software systems easily
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to get to root cause
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Can-do, positive attitude
- Position dedicated to our Duncansville location.  Occasional travel to Tipton location as needed.
- Work Schedule – 1 st shift, daylight, 7am to 3:30pm
