Position Summary
The Event Center Associate supports the daily operations of the Event Center by providing welcoming and professional service to members, guests, and event participants. This position is responsible for member check-in and registration, assisting with sign-ups and general questions, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility, and providing operational support during events and regular facility hours.
The Event Center Associate serves as a positive representation of the organization and is expected to provide excellent customer service while maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Member & Guest Services
- Welcome and assist members, guests, and event participants in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check members and guests into the facility and/or events.
- Assist individuals with membership registration, sign-ups, forms, and basic account-related questions.
- Provide accurate information regarding facility procedures, schedules, events, and available services.
- Direct questions or concerns to the appropriate staff member when additional assistance is needed.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming environment at the front desk and throughout the facility.
Facility Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas throughout the facility.
- Perform routine cleaning and light housekeeping duties, including wiping surfaces, emptying trash, organizing supplies, and maintaining common areas.
- Monitor assigned areas for cleanliness, safety, and general readiness.
- Restock supplies and notify the appropriate supervisor when supplies are low.
- Assist with room and facility setup and breakdown for events as assigned.
- Help ensure events and common areas are prepared before members and guests arrive.
Event Support
- Assist with event check-in, registration, and guest flow.
- Support event setup, breakdown, and general operational needs.
- Assist staff and volunteers with assigned event-related tasks.
- Help maintain a clean and organized environment before, during, and after events.
- Provide courteous assistance to guests while following established event procedures.
Administrative & Other Duties
- Follow established procedures for check-in, registration, facility use, and customer service.
- Accurately complete required forms, checklists, logs, or other documentation.
- Communicate facility issues, member concerns, incidents, or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Protect confidential member and organizational information.
- Follow all organizational policies, safety procedures, and facility guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the position.

Required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with members, guests, staff, and volunteers.
- Ability to follow established procedures and instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Previous customer service, hospitality, event, recreation, facility, or administrative experience.
- Experience working in a church, nonprofit, community center, event center, or similar environment.
Physical Requirements
The position may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility.
- Lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing up to approximately 25–40 pounds, as needed.
- Assisting with tables, chairs, supplies, and other event setup or breakdown activities.
- Performing routine cleaning and light housekeeping tasks.

Work Schedule
The Event Center operates based on facility needs, events, and scheduled programming. The Associate may be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on the established schedule.
Schedules may vary based on operational and event needs.
Compensation & FLSA Classification
The Event Center Associate is classified as a non-exempt employee with a pay range of $16-18/hour.
Employees are required to accurately record all hours worked in accordance with organizational timekeeping procedures. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal and state law for qualifying hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
Working additional hours without prior approval is not permitted; however, all hours actually worked must be accurately reported and will be compensated in accordance with applicable law.
