About this role
As a Laser/Press Break Operator I, you will operate and maintain laser cutting and press break machines, ensuring precise production by reviewing blueprints and taking accurate measurements. You will set up appropriate machines, and monitor production by making necessary adjustments. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean workstation, overseeing multiple CNC machines, and handling multiple tasks. You will train and help resolve machining issues. Additionally, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure optimal machine performance. As a level I, you will guide junior operators and coordinate with other employees for smooth workflow and timely production.
Key Responsibilities include:
- operates, maintains, Amada Flat Laser, Amada Press Break, Trumpf Tube Laser, and Laser Engraving Machine.
- Evaluates drawings and solid models with more senior operators to confirm production feasibility and ensures that the drawings and solid models provide sufficient detail to comply with quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of cutting materials such as 4130, 4340, 17-4, 300 Series, Bronze, Brass, and Aluminum, etc.
- Basic drawing and modeling in SolidWorks and programming in the technology-based software.
- Have basic knowledge on machine use, set-up, and troubleshooting.
- Learn how to Collaborate with engineering and quality to optimize machining processes.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications required:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Problem-solving skills to detect issues in the creation process and find solutions to ensure the machinery creates the product provided in the specified drawing.
- Basic Knowledge of programming in SolidWorks
- Basic Knowledge of operating Amada Machines
- Basic Knowledge of operating Trumpf Machines
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Problem solving skills.
- Programming experience a plus
- Basic knowledge of manual machining (lathe & Mill), CNC saw operations, iron work, and other essential shop skills.
