Job Purpose:
Serves as the first point of contact for outlet customers, covering the register and the sales floor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Outlet Associate – Front of Store
Serves as the first point of contact for outlet customers, covering the register and the sales floor.
- Provide customer service and assist with questions and purchases
- Operate the POS system and balance the cash drawer
- Stock and rotate merchandise bins
- Enforce outlet safety rules
- Maintain cleanliness and productivity, cross-train in other departments
Outlet Associate – Back of Store
Back-of-house role with no register component. Operates material handling equipment in warehouse and production environments.
- Operate compactors, balers, pallet jacks, and other equipment
- Sort recyclable materials and donated goods
- Prepare merchandise for rotation and recycling
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, support warehouse operations
Qualifications
Qualifications include basic math and cash handling, lifting 45 lbs independently and 75 lbs with assistance, standing and bending up to 8 hours, and a flexible schedule covering evenings, weekends, and holidays. High school diploma and one year of retail or cash handling experience preferred.
Safety: It is the responsibility of all employees of arc to provide a hazard-free environment. Pick up loose items on the floor quickly; clean up breakages or spills; provide help as needed to other employees and take the responsibility to report hazards to a supervisor. All employees are required to read the arc safety policy, sign the document acknowledging the understanding of it and to practice it.
Other duties and responsibilities: Ability to work as a productive member of a team. Must have good communication skills. Employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor or manager.
Working environment and physical activities: Works inside a retail outlet environment. There is exposure to temperature fluctuations. Exposure to dust and debris from donations. During the work shift, the employee is walking or standing 100% of the time. Must be able to reach above shoulder height. Must have eye-hand coordination. Must be able to lift 45 lbs independently and 75 lbs with assistance .. Must be able to move up to 500 lbs. with the aid of a pallet jack or dolly. Must be able to bend and crouch. There is repetitive use of hands. Must be able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for the entire work shift. Must be flexible with scheduling changes due to store needs. May require overtime from time to time due to store needs.
