About this role

The Medical Assistant (MA) in the Interventional Radiology (IR) clinic supports physicians, nurses, and patients in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinc setting. Full-time or part-time considered. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 
Clinical Duties 
• Prepare patients for the provider, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliation
• Set up rooms, ensuring proper equipment, supplies, and cleanliness
• Complete all charting requirements
• Maintain infection control and safety standards
• Perform follow-up calls and documentation as needed

Qualifications
Required
·         Current certification or education in medical assisting; experience also considered.

·         Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a physician office, specialty clinic, hospital, or related healthcare setting.

·         Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

·         Experience using electronic medical records and managing clinical communications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
·         Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·         Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer applications

Physical Requirements
·         Ability to lift and assist patients (up to ~50 lbs with assistance)

·         Manual dexterity for clinical tasks

·         Ability to stand for extended periods

·         Frequent standing, walking, and assisting patients with mobility

·         Exposure to medical equipment, bodily fluids, and stressful situations

·         Timely response to calls, emails, portal messages, and assigned tasks.
 
·         Accurate documentation and task completion.
 
·         Effective communication with patients, providers, and referring offices.
 
·         High level of professionalism, reliability, and customer service.
 
·         Consistent adherence to clinic workflows, policies, and quality standards.
 
·         Contribution to efficient patient care and continuity of services within the Interventional Radiology practice.
