Cardiovascular Technologist I is an entry level professional in the Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab, with direct patient care during these procedures in the scrub and monitor positions. The technologist is responsible for helping develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Cardiovascular labs. Responsible for performing specialized technologist roles within the Cardiovascular procedure setting. Operates high technology equipment and utilizes products under the direct supervision of a qualified physician to assist with procedures performed. Duties for this position include but are not limited to monitoring and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within scope of practice, inventory management and schedule coordination.
Required Education : Graduate Paramedic program or Commission of Accreditation of Allied health Education programs (CAAHEP)-accredited school of Surgical Technology.
Required Experience / Skills : None, entry level for caregiver with Paramedic or Surgical Technologist background.
Required Licensure and Certifications : Licensed in Virginia as a Paramedic or Certified Surgical Technologist
AHA BLS Provider and ACLS certification.
