La Mere Academy is a licensed childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. We are seeking a passionate Daycare Teacher / Early Childhood Educator who is committed to supporting children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Daycare Teacher to provide high-quality childcare and early childhood education in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and educational activities.
- Support children's social, emotional, language, and cognitive development.
- Maintain positive classroom management and behavior guidance practices.
- Conduct daily observations and document children's developmental progress.
- Assist with feeding, diapering, potty training, and other daily care routines as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education.
- Passion for working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Experience with preschool curriculum planning and child assessments.
