Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Qualification Test Technician to perform hands-on dimensional inspection, equipment and component functional testing, and material verification using mechanical, electrical, and material-identification test equipment in support of the construction and operation of Chrysalis, a first-of-a-kind medical isotope facility located in Janesville, WI. The position does not primarily involve analytical chemistry, wet chemistry, or chemical sample preparation. The Qualification Test Technician prepares test setups and detailed test protocols from approved requirements, executes testing in accordance with controlled procedures and work instructions, accurately records test conditions and results, and submits complete test data packages to Nuclear Procurement and Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Engineering for technical evaluation.

This is an on-site individual contributor position effective through the operational phase of Chrysalis.

The base salary range for this position is $38.46 - $48.07 per hour plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Follow approved procedures, work instructions, test plans, drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.

• Prepare detailed test protocols and data sheets from approved technical requirements under the direction of the responsible engineer.

• Fabricate, assemble, verify, and document test setups in support of laboratory activities.

• Perform qualification, acceptance, and dedication-related tests as directed, without independently establishing CGD acceptance criteria or making final acceptability determinations.

• Accurately record raw data, test conditions, equipment identification, calibration status, observations, anomalies, and deviations to maintain complete and traceable test records.

• Protect data integrity by completing records as testing progresses and by promptly communicating unexpected results or test interruptions.

• Compile and submit complete test data packages to Nuclear Procurement and the responsible CGD Engineer for evaluation against critical characteristics for acceptance (CCAs) and for preparation or approval of acceptance test reports.

• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and CGD Engineering during test preparation and execution, as required.

• Prepare factual test and inspection reports that document methods, equipment, results, and observed conditions; technical conclusions and acceptance decisions remain with the responsible engineer.

• Generate Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports and nonconformance reports (NCRs), as required by applicable procedures.

• Support quality receiving inspection (QRI) activities, as assigned.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, work areas, materials, and records in a safe, orderly, and audit-ready condition.

Requirements

This position is intended for candidates with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, inspection, metrology, or industrial test experience. Traditional analytical chemistry laboratory experience alone does not satisfy the preferred experience for this role.

• Associate degree in a technical field, five years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

• Ability to consistently follow controlled procedures, work instructions, test protocols, and safety requirements.

• Ability to read and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, specifications, and operating manuals.

• Experience setting up and conducting tests, collecting accurate data, and maintaining clear, complete, and traceable records.

• Ability to recognize and promptly communicate anomalous results, equipment issues, deviations, or incomplete test conditions.

• Familiarity with test equipment such as DMMs, AC/DC variable voltage sources, hi-pot testers, oscilloscopes, function generators, power meters, calipers, micrometers, infrared temperature instruments, tachometers, and flow meters required.

• Experience using seismic tables preferred.

• Experience using analytical test equipment such as OES, XRF, and FTIR preferred.

• Ability to use basic shop equipment correctly and safely, including drill presses and grinders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Prior knowledge of Commercial Grade Dedication methodology or EPRI NP-5652 is helpful but not required. CGD fundamentals, the importance of CGD to nuclear safety, nuclear safety culture, and role-specific expectations will be included in onboarding and on-the-job training.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
· Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.

· Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

· Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.

· Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

· Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
