Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide professional writing, editing, and proofreading services to produce clear, impactful content for diverse audiences and communication channels
- Create and refine publication documents, marketing materials, and Public Roads magazine content while maintaining version control and quality assurance throughout production
- Provide deliverables, including marketing plans, summaries, newsletters, flyers, brochures, fact sheets, guides, posters, postcards, scripts, transcripts, social media posts, presentations, exhibit materials, web content, talking points, frequently asked questions (FAQs), alternative text, and surveys
- Provide editorial and writing services to support publication of documents, marketing materials, and Public Roads magazines
- Write, develop, and edit a variety of materials such as documents, marketing materials and magazine articles, and other types of content
- Provide professional editorial support for publications, marketing, and magazine content and associated materials at all stages of production in electronic format
- Correct errors in grammar, spelling, style, logical flow, punctuation, coherency, and format
- Design and format publication materials to meet branding, style, and accessibility standards to ensure consistency and professionalism across all documents and products
- Use the Content Management Systems (CMS) to upload, maintain, and post content on agency websites and intranets
- Optimize text for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and ensure that all web pages are compliant with Section 508 federal accessibility laws
- Coordinate the Agency’s quarterly certification process for up-to-date information
- Use graphic applications to crop, recolor, resize, and manipulate web images when needed
Required Skills and Experience
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in web content management, 3 of which within the last 5 years
- Previous web experience
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
Professional Certifications None required Years of Professional Experience 5-7 years of total professional experience Desired experience Transportation experience, especially in highway and surface transportation is preferred Formal Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or in a related discipline Citizenship Requirement U.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunity Security Clearance Requirements Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) CRITICAL NOTES:
