About this role
Bolt On Technology helps automotive repair shops improve efficiency, strengthen customer communication, and increase revenue through technology that integrates with the shop management systems they already use.
Our solutions help shops modernize the customer experience, streamline daily operations, improve vehicle inspections, automate follow-up, and create more repeat business opportunities.
We are looking for a driven, consultative Sales Consultant who can turn qualified opportunities into long-term customers.
As a Sales Consultant, you will manage prospective customers from the initial sales conversation through discovery, product demonstration, objection handling, and close.
You will work closely with our Business Development Representatives, who identify and qualify prospective customers and provide warm transfers or scheduled appointments. You will also be expected to generate your own opportunities when your calendar permits.
This is a high-accountability role for someone who is comfortable conducting demonstrations, asking strong discovery questions, creating urgency, and directly asking for the business.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct consultative sales conversations with independent automotive repair shop owners and managers.
- Accept qualified warm transfers and scheduled appointments from the BDR team.
- Complete discovery to understand each shop’s systems, workflow, customer communication, operational challenges, and revenue opportunities.
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations tailored to the prospect’s specific needs.
- Clearly communicate the business value and expected return of BOLT ON solutions.
- Explain how BOLT ON integrates with the prospect’s existing shop management system.
- Recommend the right solution based on the shop’s current operation, goals, and challenges.
- Handle pricing questions, competitive concerns, and objections confidently.
- Create appropriate urgency and ask directly for the sale.
- Follow up consistently with qualified opportunities that do not close during the initial conversation.
- Prospect and source new business when there are openings in your demonstration calendar.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and complete all required documentation in HubSpot.
- Record detailed discovery notes, next steps, decision criteria, and follow-up commitments.
- Document specific closed-won and closed-lost reasons, including competitor information.
- Collaborate with BDRs, sales leadership, onboarding, customer success, and other internal teams to create a smooth customer experience.
- Participate in call reviews, coaching, sales training, and ongoing product education.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistently meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals.
- Maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Converting qualified demonstrations into new customers at a strong rate.
- Responding quickly to warm transfers and new opportunities.
- Delivering focused demonstrations that connect product capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
- Generating self-sourced opportunities when additional pipeline is needed.
- Following up with every qualified prospect promptly and consistently.
- Maintaining complete, accurate, and timely HubSpot records.
- Providing reliable win/loss information that helps improve sales execution, marketing, and product strategy.
- Forecasting your pipeline accurately and taking ownership of your results.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS, automotive technology, payments, or another solution-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience conducting discovery, presenting solutions, handling objections, and closing business.
- Comfortable selling to small-business owners and operational decision-makers.
- Ability to translate software capabilities into clear business value.
- Strong presentation, listening, questioning, and communication skills.
- Confident using video conferencing technology to conduct remote product demonstrations.
- Organized and disciplined with pipeline management and follow-up.
- Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM.
- Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment with clearly defined activity, conversion, and revenue expectations.
- Coachable, competitive, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Automotive repair industry experience is helpful but not required.
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Enjoy selling directly to business owners.
- Lead with discovery instead of delivering a generic product pitch.
- Can establish trust quickly and guide a decisive sales conversation.
- Understand that a product demonstration should solve the prospect’s problems—not simply show features.
- Take personal responsibility for building and managing your pipeline.
- Are comfortable asking difficult questions and directly asking for the sale.
- Follow through on commitments without needing constant supervision.
- Use CRM documentation as an essential part of the sales process.
- Want your compensation and advancement to be influenced by your performance.
