Calibration Technician

Job Title: Electronics Calibration Technician Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician with a strong technical background to support the calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments and systems returned for service. This role typically operates in service support and metrology environments, working to component level to ensure measurement equipment and related systems perform accurately, reliably, and in accordance with prescribed standards. Responsibilities

- Perform calibrations on measurement equipment using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions.
- Prepare all required documentation for calibration and repair activities and maintain accurate, complete, and organized records.
- Analyze calibration data and identify trends, communicating findings to the appropriate departments to help ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Escalate unusual product issues, complex faults, or recurring problems to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution.
- Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working order, ensuring equipment is correctly stored, handled, and maintained.
- Work in a laboratory setting to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair measurement equipment or components returned by customers to the service center.
- Resolve technical problems related to electronic instruments and systems, including diagnosing issues down to the component level.
- Perform maintenance services on measurement equipment to ensure continued accuracy, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Follow established procedures and quality guidelines related to metrology, calibration, and repair activities.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to share technical information, support continuous improvement, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Essential Skills

- Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics and electrical systems, gained through education or hands-on work.
- Experience working with electronic test equipment and lab equipment in a technical or service environment.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or closely related technical disciplines.
- Ability to perform calibrations using primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) following detailed work instructions.
- Understanding of basic metrology concepts, including ISO-related practices, with the ability to apply them in a calibration environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to document work clearly and convey technical information to colleagues.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs as part of handling instruments, equipment, and related materials.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in calibration, documentation, and repair work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting, contributing to a cooperative and supportive laboratory environment.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn, adapt, and succeed in a technical service role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Associate of Science degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline is also suitable.
- Preferred experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment in a service, lab, or metrology environment.
- Preferred minimum of 6 months of experience using automated test systems.
- Soldering experience for component-level repair and rework on electronic assemblies.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality practices in metrology and calibration.
- Demonstrated good attitude, professionalism, and reliability in previous roles.
- Demonstrated willingness to continuously develop technical skills and stay current with relevant technologies.

Work Environment This position is based in a laboratory and service center environment where you work hands-on with measurement equipment, electronic test instruments, and calibration standards. You will use various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) as part of daily calibration and troubleshooting tasks. The role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with training conducted during the same hours. The environment emphasizes precision, safety, and adherence to ISO-related metrology practices, while fostering teamwork, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
