Position Overview

The Patient Scheduling Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating patient appointments, ensuring accuracy in registration, and assisting with insurance verification and referral processes. This role demands exceptional communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet patients and representatives in a professional and welcoming manner

- Verify and update demographic and insurance information

- Schedule office visits, lab work, radiology tests, and internal referrals

- Respond to phone calls and emails related to appointment scheduling

- Send out appointment reminders or rescheduling letters

- Assist patients with various requests and resolve scheduling issues

- Collaborate with care support and maintain referral documentation

- Support administrative functions and provide coverage for peers when needed

- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a patient-first approach

- Participate in training and orientation of new staff as assigned

- Attend staff meetings and maintain timely communication with leadership

Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Required:

- High school diploma or GED

- Six months of related experience and/or training in healthcare or a similar administrative role

- Preferred:

- Experience in insurance verification and referral processing

Skills & Abilities

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong organizational, follow-up, and multitasking abilities

- Proficiency in computer systems and scheduling software

- Ability to prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment

- Problem-solving skills and sound judgment under minimal supervision

- Team-oriented, professional demeanor with a patient-first mindset
