The Manager, Employee Communications & Engagement is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Amentum employee network operations, employee connection programs, CSR-related employee activation, and employee-facing communications that increase awareness and participation. Up to approximately 50% of the role is dedicated to Amentum Connect Networks, Amentum Technology Networks, Amentum Business Networks, and related CSR activations. The remaining scope supports employee engagement initiatives through communications execution, campaign and event coordination, recognition and connection activities, and program management.

The role implements established network governance and communication strategies, provides operational and editorial support to network leads, and develops high-quality content aligned with enterprise messaging, brand standards, business priorities, and employee experience goals. This position partners with the Director, Employee Engagement & Communications, the Senior Manager, Employee Engagement & Experience, Enterprise Employee Communications, Human Resources, and business stakeholders.

This is a US Remote role teleworking from home, requiring occasional travel to work on-site at Amentum’s U.S. headquarters in Virginia. U.S. Citizenship is required to apply.

Key Responsibilities

1. Employee Networks, Community Connections & CSR Activation

- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for network leads and leadership teams, providing guidance and support for annual planning, program execution, leadership capability, and budget and expense administration.
- Support the execution of an integrated communications strategy for enterprise employee engagement initiatives and employee networks, ensuring alignment with enterprise messaging, brand standards, and business priorities.
- Maintain and apply approved network policies, frameworks, toolkits, guidelines, templates, membership records, reporting processes, and administrative practices to enable consistent network operations.
- Coordinate enterprise-level network initiatives, leadership forums, events, and member engagement activities that strengthen employee connection and collaboration.
- Provide communications guidance and editorial support to network leads, including message development, content review, and channel selection.
- Partner with Director, Employee Communications and Engagement, to prepare c-suite executive sponsors and advisors for leadership chats, enterprise events, and network advisory activities through briefing materials, content coordination, and follow-up.
- Partner with employee networks and CSR stakeholders to plan and activate enterprise-wide volunteerism, community impact, and giving-related initiatives aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Monitor applicable legal, regulatory, policy, and executive order developments and implement approved changes to network guidance, communications, and operating practices in partnership with Legal, Human Resources, and other appropriate stakeholders.

2. Enterprise Employee Communications & Storytelling

- Execute communications plans for enterprise-wide employee engagement initiatives, employee networks, CSR activities, and related events in alignment with strategies established by the Director and Enterprise Employee Communications.
- Develop, write, edit, and distribute enterprise-wide employee communications, including emails, intranet content, leadership messages, newsletters, toolkits, presentations, event communications, and promotional materials.
- Create clear, consistent storytelling that highlights employee achievements, network activities, recognition, community impact, and Amentum culture and values in action.
- Partner closely with Enterprise Employee Communications to align content with enterprise messaging, editorial calendars, messaging frameworks, brand standards, accessibility requirements, and channel best practices.
- Maintain content calendars and communication plans for assigned initiatives to support timely, coordinated execution across channels.

3. Employee Engagement Activation & Program Support

- Support execution of enterprise employee engagement initiatives designed and led by the Director or broader Employee Engagement team.
- Coordinate project plans, timelines, stakeholder inputs, materials, logistics, communications, and events for employee connection, recognition, appreciation, and engagement activities.
- Support initiatives that increase employee awareness, participation, collaboration, and access to relevant career development and employee voice opportunities.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Talent, Learning & Development, Employee Experience, and Enterprise Employee Communications to connect assigned programs to broader workforce priorities.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure assigned programs and communications are relevant, scalable, and executable.

4. Measurement, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

- Track network participation, program activity, event outcomes, and communication performance using established measures and reporting processes.
- Compile employee feedback, participation data, and communication insights supplied through programs and partner teams to identify execution improvements and inform recommendations to the Director.
- Maintain accurate status reports, calendars, records, and dashboards for assigned network, CSR, communication, and engagement activities.
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and resource constraints, and escalate issues with practical recommendations.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Measurement: Ability to track participation and communication performance, organize data, identify trends, and recommend practical improvements.
- Operational Excellence: Strong attention to detail, follow-through, judgment, and ability to manage sensitive information appropriately.
- Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with evolving priorities and requirements.
- Influence: Ability to guide and support stakeholders without direct authority and escalate decisions appropriately.
- Strong writing, editing, project management, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

- Typically requires 8 or more years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, community or network management, program management, human resources, organizational development, marketing, or a related field with Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience developing employee-facing content and coordinating enterprise programs, campaigns, events, or stakeholder-driven initiatives in a complex organization.
- Experience supporting employee networks, employee resource groups, community programs, CSR activities, or similar employee programs preferred.
- Experience using digital communication, collaboration, intranet, event, and reporting tools.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- U.S. remote role with the ability to travel periodically, less than 10%, to the Chantilly, Virginia area to work on-site.

Compensation Details:
Budget 125K
