Position Summary
The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the frozen foods department, ensuring product availability, inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and exceptional customer service. This role provides leadership to department associates, maintains product quality and food safety standards, and supports sales and profitability goals through effective inventory management and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations
- Oversee daily frozen department activities and ensure operational standards are met.
- Ensure products are properly stocked, rotated, faced, and merchandised.
- Monitor department conditions to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout business hours.
- Execute promotional displays, seasonal programs, and sales initiatives.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to support customer demand.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service and foster a customer-focused environment.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and selection.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Promote department products through product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.
Leadership & Associate Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to frozen department associates.
- Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and daily task assignments.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Support associate performance and development initiatives.
Inventory & Financial Performance
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment activities.
- Control shrink through proper product rotation and inventory management practices.
- Support labor management and department expense control efforts.
- Help achieve department sales, margin, and profitability goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
- Maintain required freezer temperatures and storage conditions.
- Monitor product dates and ensure proper rotation procedures.
- Follow all company safety programs and operational guidelines.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
Merchandising & Product Quality
- Maintain attractive, fully stocked frozen food displays.
- Ensure products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
- Minimize out-of-stock conditions while maximizing sales opportunities.
- Support seasonal merchandising plans and promotional programs.
