About the Role:

Snapscale is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to support a growing US-based ophthalmology practice as part of its existing billing team.

This role will focus on charge entry, claim submission, accounts receivable (A/R), and patient billing support . The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, communicating with patients regarding billing concerns, and maintaining accurate and timely billing records.

Experience with Nextech is highly preferred, as the role will involve working directly within the practice's existing system.

Responsibilities may include:

- Handle patient billing calls and emails professionally.
- Send payment links to patients with outstanding balances.
- Prepare paper statements for patients without an active email or mobile number for in-house mailing.
- Contact virtual card companies, when applicable, to request paper checks.
- Perform accurate charge entry and claim submission .
- Complete approximately 3–4 hours of charge entry per day .
- Manage and follow up on past-due accounts receivable (A/R) for approximately 1–2 hours per day.
- Monitor billing activity and ensure charges are entered and submitted in a timely manner.
- Track and document daily A/R activities and patient-balance outreach.
- Monitor unbilled encounters and support timely resolution.
- Work in Nextech and other client-provided systems.
- Maintain accurate billing and patient account records.
- Respond to patient billing messages within the required timeframe.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling patient information and PHI.
- Follow established billing workflows and procedures.
- Perform other billing-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

- Previous experience as a Medical Biller, Medical Billing Specialist, Billing Coordinator, or similar healthcare billing role
- Hands-on experience with charge entry and claim submission
- Experience managing accounts receivable (A/R)
- Experience supporting a US-based healthcare practice is preferred
- Nextech experience is highly preferred
- Experience handling patient billing calls and emails
- Strong understanding of medical billing and revenue-cycle workflows
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organized with strong follow-up and documentation skills
- Able to manage billing tasks independently and meet daily deadlines
- Comfortable handling confidential patient information and following HIPAA-compliant procedures
- Must be willing to work full-time, Monday through Friday
