Job Description

<br>

We are looking for a Software Engineer to play a key role in delivering our Homepass strategy by contributing to the development of high-quality, reliable, and scalable software across our mobile and API platforms. They take ownership of features end-to-end, from design and development through to testing, deployment, production support, and ongoing enhancements.

By applying strong full-stack skills across React Native, Node.js, and AWS, the Software Engineer helps build robust systems that meet the needs of real estate agents in the field. This includes writing and reviewing code, implementing scalable architecture, leading technical migrations, and setting engineering patterns that others follow.

You will be responsible for addressing issues raised through internal or customer channels and can provide on-call support for the systems they build and maintain. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, they drive continuous improvement across test coverage, observability, and dependency health, and deliver solutions that are production-verified and aligned with our strategic and operational goals.

You will:

- Own and execute the full lifecycle of small to medium-sized projects: design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.

- Architect and implement scalable and reliable solutions that meet current and future needs.

- Ship incrementally, with clear judgement about which decisions are reversible and which carry real risk or blast radius.

- Ensure high-quality outputs through solid testing practices, peer code reviews, and meaningful test coverage.

- Set technical patterns through code review, design docs, and pairing — raise the bar rather than just maintain it.

- Lead legacy modernisation work incrementally, making progress without destabilising what's already running.

- Experience working in cross-functional teams alongside Product and Design

- Experience building and operating backend services in production, including APIs, async workers, and integrations with third-party systems

- Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Technical Skills

- Strong TypeScript across both frontend and backend

- React Native or React, experience with one and willingness to work in both

- Node.js backend development, including REST and GraphQL APIs

- MongoDB or other document databases, including query and index design

- AWS: comfortable reading dashboards, following deployment pipelines, and reasoning about infrastructure (CDK or EKS experience a plus)

- Solid testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end testing in CI pipelines

- Familiar with async messaging patterns (e.g. SQS, event-driven architecture)

- Familiar with application security practices (OWASP)

- AWS (or other Cloud Platform) Certification

- Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering related field
