Will you help us design the next generation of revolutionary Apple products? Apple is looking for a Product Design Engineering Intern to join our Watch Product Design Group in Shanghai or Shenzhen, China. We are seeking someone passionate about engineering who thrives on innovation.
In this role, you will handle multiple projects simultaneously with demanding schedule requirements across a large cross-functional team. You will apply scientific methods to create processes that solve complex problems, delivering solid design solutions while balancing multiple priorities and collaborating closely with suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
Solid foundation in engineering principles, including statics, strength of materials, and material science.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in basic design skills, including tolerance analysis, design for assembly (DFA), design for manufacturing (DFM), simple fixture design, Statistical Process Controls (SPC), and metrology.
Strong design intelligence demonstrated through mechanical intuition, creative problem-solving, spatial reasoning, and meticulous attention to detail.
Expertise in 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD), with NX preferred.
Track record of navigating the design cycle from concept through manufacturing.
Background in designing mechanical components for high-volume manufacturing, such as injection-molded parts, sheet metal components, die-cast, and machined parts.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with Contract Manufacturing Partners.
Familiarity with AI application, programming and app development is a strong plus.
