Job Description:

Position Summary

Responsible for verifying and handling raw materials in support of the metal fabrication shop, machine shop, and weld shop. Ensures all incoming materials meet purchase order and quality requirements by comparing vendor Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and mill certifications to purchase orders and specifications. Additionally supports the Quality Department by performing basic mechanical and electrical inspections and other QA-related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation, CoCs & Mill Certs

- Review and compare vendor CoCs and mill test reports/certifications to purchase orders and applicable specifications.
- Verify material grade, heat/lot numbers, and mechanical/chemical properties match PO and drawing requirements.
- Ensure certifications are complete and accurate.
- Maintain material traceability through proper tagging, labeling, and recordkeeping.

QA & Inspection Support

- Perform basic mechanical inspection of raw materials and manufactured parts as directed by the QA Supervisor.
- Use mechanical measuring tools: tape measure, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Perform basic electrical inspection and testing using: Digital multimeter
- Ohm meter
- Insulation resistance tester (megger)

- Read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints (dimensions, tolerances, notes).
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams/schematics for verification of wiring, continuity, and component identification.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

● Education: High School Diploma/GED
● Experience: 3+ years of related experience
● Security clearance level: Ability to obtain and Maintain Secret clearance
● US citizenship required

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.75 - $40.25. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
