Overall Purpose

This role leads product marketing for Zelle end to end, with accountability for the strategy, standards, operating model, and commercialization approach that connect customer and market insight to product strategy, positioning, launch, partner activation, adoption, and ongoing optimization across the Zelle portfolio.

You will serve as the senior product marketing partner to Product and lead the product marketing function for Zelle, creating a consistent, repeatable approach across core capabilities and expansion use cases. You will shape clear, consistent positioning and prioritization across Zelle, establish strong product marketing practices, and ensure teams move from market understanding through commercialization with clear ownership, measurable outcomes, and continuous learning.

In addition to leading product marketing overall, you will directly own Zelle commerce, focused on expanding Zelle beyond person-to-person money movement into everyday payments, including corporate biller and omni-channel merchant use cases. You will help define the segmentation, value proposition, partner pathways, and go-to-market model required to scale adoption across financial institutions, merchants, and platform partners.

This is a player-coach role. You will remain hands-on in the highest-priority commercialization work while leading the Zelle product marketing function and supporting clear ownership across the team. You will provide strategic direction, connect work across the portfolio, and help establish consistent product marketing practices, while also acting as the central connector across Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Risk, Compliance, Communications, and external partners.

Essential Functions

- Establish and track product marketing KPIs across launch readiness, partner adoption, activation, usage, transaction growth, and retention, using performance and market feedback to inform priorities and improve go-to-market effectiveness.
- Lead commercialization of priority Zelle capabilities and commerce use cases, aligning Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Risk, Compliance, Communications, and external partners around decisions, dependencies, launch readiness, and success measures.
- Directly own the go-to-market strategy for Zelle commerce, including corporate biller and omni-channel merchant use cases, and help define the priority segments, value propositions, partner pathways, and commercialization model required to scale adoption.
- Build and operationalize repeatable go-to-market frameworks that improve launch readiness, partner activation, measurement, and ongoing optimization across the portfolio.
- Create clear, consistent positioning and messaging across Zelle so capabilities and use cases come to market with a differentiated and coherent customer story.
- Own the end-to-end product marketing discipline across Zelle—from market and customer insight through positioning, product influence, commercialization, launch, partner adoption, measurement, and optimization.
- Lead the Zelle product marketing team, establishing clear portfolio ownership, priorities, and consistent ways of working across core and expansion use cases.
- Serve as a senior strategic counterpart to Product leadership, bringing customer, partner, competitive, and market perspectives into product strategy, roadmap choices, prioritization, and launch sequencing.
- Lead product marketing for Zelle overall, setting the function’s strategy, priorities, standards, operating model, and measures of success across the portfolio.
- Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

- Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field or equivalent experience.
- Typically 15 or more years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
- Strong executive communication and influence skills, with the ability to lead effectively across highly matrixed and ambiguous environments.
- Track record of building repeatable go-to-market approaches and driving measurable outcomes such as partner adoption, activation, usage, transaction growth, or retention.
- Experience leading product marketing teams and creating clarity, consistency, and accountability across multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to serve as a senior strategic partner to Product leadership and influence product strategy, roadmap decisions, and prioritization through customer, market, competitive, and partner insight.
- Deep experience leading end-to-end product marketing—from market and customer insight through positioning, product influence, commercialization, launch, adoption, and optimization.
- Demonstrated experience leading product marketing across a portfolio or multiple product lines, including setting strategy, priorities, operating practices, and standards for the function.

Preferred Qualifications

- Deep familiarity with financial institution distribution models, payments ecosystems, and operational constraints.
- Experience with merchant payments, biller payments, commerce, or platform partner ecosystems.
- Experience working with platform partners such as payment processors, POS systems, SaaS providers, marketplaces, or other distribution partners Understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk, and trust considerations in payments.
- Experience building scalable partner-facing enablement programs, toolkits, and commercialization models.
- Experience building or elevating a product marketing function, including repeatable frameworks, launch standards, portfolio prioritization, and measurement.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $226,000 - $282,000.
