About this role
Duties: Performs general custodial work inside and outside central and branch facilities, to include floor and building maintenance and some shelving duties. Daily : Remove trash and replace bags. Clean restrooms and kitchen area. Vacuum as needed. Dust, polish and clean tables and shelves in office areas. Clean telephones. Clean windows and doors visible to public. Remove trash from building to outside dumpster. Empty book drop. Shelve materials. Assist with donated material disposition. Weekly: Sweep, mop and vacuum (more often if needed). Book shelves and wall cleaning (ongoing). Clean windows and doors outside of daily schedule. Dust and clean computer equipment. Turn in supply list for replenishing supplies. Monthly: Heavy floor cleaning (mopping, waxing, carpet soil treatment). Special projects as assigned. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policies. Must be able to obtain and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements.
Qualifications: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- From 11 to less than 21 years of service four weeks of vacation per year.
- From 21 to less than 26 years of service five weeks of vacation per year.
- From 26 years of service and up six weeks of vacation per year.
