The   Raytheon   Transmitter System Engineer   support s   Sentinel ® radars   which are the   primary air defense radar for the US Army as well as part of the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS ® )   defense system   in support of several foreign customers.

We’re   looking for   Systems Engineer s   to   help   maintain   the readiness of   the   Sentinel fleet by   maintaining   one of the key units of the radar transmitter, the Power Amplifier   Module   ( PAM ) .   As a   Transmitter Systems Engineer you   are responsible for   performing PAM troubleshooting, r e work, and testing   activities at the Battlefield Radar Test Site   located   in Fullerton, CA.   These activities occur in both a lab and outdoor environment.

As   Sentinel Transmitter System Engineer , you will   participate   in multi-disciplinary work consisting of:

- Troubleshoot ing   PAM   electrical and RF   assemblies

- Replac ing PAM   failed   subassemblies

- Perform ing   PAM   electrical   and RF   alignments

- Performing PAM   operational   verification testing

- Completing   PAM   testing documentation

- Operat ing   Sentinel Radar

Position Location Onsite – Fullerton, CA   - Travel   may be needed for up to 10% of the year .

What You Will Do:

- Work in a team environment   and independently , receiving   inputs   from team supervisors .

- Support hands-on operational Integration and   t est   of Sentinel PAM(s)   at the Fullerton Test Site .

- Provide critical troubleshooting,   maintenance   and operational support   for Sentinel PAM(s) .

- Develop and provide   inputs   for   test plans and procedures .

- Utilize   simple hand tools   ( e.g.   wrenches, ball   allen   sets,   torque drivers ) .

- Utilize electronic   and RF   test   equipment   ( e.g.   oscilloscope, power meter,   multimeter , spectrum analyzer, pulse pattern generator, signal generator )   on   a   daily basis .

- Assist   in documentation, moving, packing, and shipping equipment and parts .

- Ability to lift   25   lbs   and   assist   with two person   lifts   up   to 75 lbs .

- Ability to work   on platforms   as part of military trailers ( e.g.   Light Medium Tactical Vehicle trailer) .

- Ability to work in outdoor and enclosed environments .

- Ability to   work extended   work days   (if needed).

- Ability to travel up to   10 % of the year .

Qualifications You Must Have  :

- A University Degree   in Science,   Technology, Engineering or Mathematics   (STEM)   or equivalent experience.

- Up to   2 years of prior   experience   working   with   electronic and RF   hardware integration, operation,   test   and verification .

- Up to 2 years of prior experience   working with electronic   and RF   test equipment,   e.g.   oscilloscope, power meter, multimeter , spectrum analyzer, pulse pattern generator, signal generator.

Qualifications We Prefer:

- Experience working on a team and by yourself, interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines and   communicating status and support needs to   supervisory management.

- Experience working with hand tools

- Experience   interpreting   product drawings   and/or schematics as part of troubleshooting

The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
