About this role

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE TO THE CAUSE (Responsibilities)

Volunteer & Event Support

- Assist with set-up, tabling, and breakdown at corporate volunteer engagement events

- Transport, load, and unload event materials and supplies to and from event sites

- Provide friendly, professional, customer-facing support to volunteers, partners, and attendees on-site

- Carry out day-of event logistics as directed by Partner Engagement staff

Campaign Material Delivery

- Deliver employee giving campaign materials to Workplace Ambassadors at corporate worksites, including retail store locations

- Confirm material drop-off with worksite contacts and communicate professionally and courteously

- Track delivery locations, quantities, and dates as directed by the Manager

Customer Service & Representation

- Represent United Way of Greater Los Angeles professionally and positively in every external interaction

- Respond to routine questions from ambassadors and attendees with warmth and accuracy

- Escalate partner-relationship or judgment-call questions to the Partner Engagement Manager

- Reflect UWGLA's mission and brand in tone, appearance, and conduct at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or GED required

- Prior experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or events strongly preferred

- Comfortable with in-person, field-based work across LA County, including retail and corporate worksites

- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and good DMV record required

- Able to lift and carry event materials and supplies (up to 50 lbs) for short distances

- Warm, professional demeanor with strong external customer service and CSR-facing values

- Reliable and punctual; available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours based on the event calendar

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

HOURS & AVAILABILITY

This is a temporary position at 20 hours/week, starting as soon as possible going through December 15, 2026, with potential to extend.

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00.
