JOB PURPOSE:
The Employment Services Career Readiness Instructor is responsible for instructing learners in
job readiness and Pre-Employment Transition Services within contracted schools according to
Endeavors Unlimited Job Supportive Services educational programming. The Employment
Services Career Readiness Instructor will identify and develop optimal employment opportunities
for vulnerable individuals, while providing support to clients and empowering them to obtain and
maintain employment.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Internal Responsibilities:
o Communicate with Program Manager status of training development for each student weekly and reach out to same when met with obstacles to meet training goal.
- o Accurate and timely submission of necessary documents for services completed and invoicing. Along with all required supplemental documentation.
- o Develops employment placements and opportunities for individuals on caseload in a timely manner.
- o Collaborate with program manager on curriculum requirements and revisions.
- o Communicate with Program Manager status of job development for each person on caseload weekly and reach out to same when met with obstacles to meet job placement goal.
- o Accurate and timely submission of all required supplemental documentation.
- Actively markets Job Supportive Services to employer partner network, stakeholders, and community partners. This includes attending conferences, meetings, trade events, hiring fairs, etc.
- Communicate with Program Manager all service delivery issues.
- Communicate with Program Manager all requests for services.
- Participates in staff development activities, staff meetings and curriculum development activities as required or assigned.
- Client Responsibilities:
o Planning and implementation of instructional activities for a cohort of learners preparing for Pre-Employment Transition Services, Digital Literacy, Professional Soft-Skills, Job Readiness courses, and Money Matters course.
- Develop program timeline and weekly instructional schedule for learner persistence.
- o Coordinates with the individual, their school administration and teachers, their employer, family support, case managers, and Texas Workforce Commission - Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors as needed.
- o Provide client progress updates to teachers, administrators, vocational rehabilitation counselors, case managers and program manager as assigned.
- o Document phone calls, emails and time spent with individuals we serve and their families in the Salesforce BirdsEye CMS software system.
- o Provide individualized support to match each client to an appropriate job based on job interest/skills.
- o Administer assessments in accordance with provider guidelines .
- o Instruct students on career readiness subjects in accordance with Endeavors Unlimited Pre-Employment Transition Services lesson plans.
- o Conduct job readiness training for client receiving services from Endeavors programs in accordance with specific grant requirements.
- o Conduct life skills training sessions for clients receiving services from Endeavors programs in accordance with specific grant requirements.
- Misc. Responsibilities:
o Uses excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and effective time management skills.
- o Travel to and from job sites depending on case load.
- o Demonstrate exceptional customer service, in everything you do, placing the client first to support our mission to Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.
- o Additional job duties as assigned by Program Manager.

EDUCATION: Undergraduate degree in special education, or related field from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience. Minimum 2 years of experience working with students in a classroom environment.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employers sole discretion.
LICENSES: Teaching license in special education held within the last 5 years. Drivers License with clear record.
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken language skills) .
- Proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken language skills) .
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends occasionally.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Proficiency in lesson plan development and implementation.
