JOB SUMMARY
The Machine Repair position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery and equipment to support safe and efficient operations. This role works primarily with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and partners with Maintenance and Engineering to diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs, and minimize production downtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs and/or assists with the installation, relocation, setup, and leveling of machinery and production equipment.
- Installs pneumatic and hydraulic power sources and related components for newly installed or relocated equipment.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions, working with Maintenance team members and Engineering as needed to identify issues and determine appropriate repairs.
- Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and maintains mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, including but not limited to solenoids, actuators, ball screws, pumps, air motors, packaging equipment, air cylinders, fixtures, robots, chucks, clutches, brakes, belts, bearings, conveyors, and feeders.
- Ensures machinery and equipment are maintained in safe operating condition and that all required guards, safety devices, and interlocks are properly installed and functioning.
- Follows all established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, when servicing or repairing equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to three years of related experience in machine repair, industrial maintenance, or a similar skilled trade; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
- Experience with equipment and components such as pumps, bearings, belts, conveyors, actuators, air cylinders, clutches, brakes, fixtures, and other industrial machinery.
- Journeyperson certification, completion of a recognized skilled-trades apprenticeship, or documented equivalent machine repair experience preferred.
- Ability to safely troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment while following established safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
