Summary
Gainwell Technologies is seeking an experienced Claims Data Entry Supervisor to support claims intake and data entry operations for California’s Medi-Cal program at our West Sacramento office.
In this role, you will supervise a team responsible for entering, reviewing, and validating healthcare claims information within Medi-Cal systems, helping ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established policies, program requirements, and service-level expectations.
You will manage daily workflow, monitor productivity and quality, coach and develop employees, address operational issues, and help ensure the team consistently meets production, accuracy, and turnaround-time expectations.
Your role in our mission
- Supervise the daily operations of the Claims Data Entry team, including workflow, staffing priorities, production, quality, and turnaround times.
- Assign, monitor, and prioritize workloads to help ensure production goals, deadlines, and service-level requirements are consistently met.
- Oversee the entry, review, and validation of healthcare claims information and help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures and Medi-Cal requirements.
- Monitor productivity, quality, inventory, turnaround times, and other operational performance metrics and address performance issues when needed.
- Coach, train, and develop employees while providing ongoing feedback regarding productivity, quality, accuracy, attendance, and performance expectations.
- Prepare operational reports, communicate performance results to management, and help identify opportunities to improve workflow, accuracy, efficiency, and overall team performance.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, organizational policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable program requirements.
What we're looking for
- Two or more years of supervisory or people leadership experience in data entry, claims processing, administrative operations, healthcare operations, or a related high-volume production environment.
- Experience managing day-to-day employee performance, including workflow, workload assignments, coaching, training, productivity, and quality.
- Experience working in data entry, healthcare claims, claims intake, document processing, administrative operations, or another high-volume transactional environment.
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicaid, healthcare claims, medical insurance, or related healthcare operations is preferred.
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Proficiency with data entry or business processing systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
What you should expect in this role
- This is a 100% onsite position at our West Sacramento, CA office. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.
- Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM .
- You will supervise employees supporting high-volume claims data entry operations for California’s Medi-Cal program.
- You will be responsible for monitoring productivity, quality, accuracy, inventory, turnaround times, and employee performance.
- This position requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, metrics-driven production environment.

The pay range for this position is $54,200 - $77,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
