Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for an experienced RN Clinical Mentor to work with Surgical Orthopedics (Ortho) unit.

Clinical Mentor Job Responsibilities:

- Develop expertise in training, coaching and mentoring staff through the promotion and delivery of high-quality nursing care.
- Orient, educate and develop nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
- Provide support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment.
- Integrate knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members.
- Participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians.

Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Qualifications:

- Education : Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Experience : 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor.
- Certification : BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Adult Inpatient RN experience
