Position Overview
Veero Ford & CDJR is seeking an experienced, hands-on Automotive Service Director to lead our dual-franchise Ford and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram service department.
We are looking for a proven dealership service leader who understands how to manage technicians, develop service advisors, improve shop productivity, and deliver exceptional customer experiences while maintaining strong departmental profitability.
The Service Director will work closely with ownership to strengthen daily operations, develop employees, improve processes, and build a department positioned for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
Service Department Leadership
- Oversee daily service operations, including technicians, service advisors, dispatching, and shop workflow.
- Lead, coach, and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Establish clear performance expectations and maintain accountability.
- Manage technician scheduling, shop capacity, and repair order flow.
- Recruit, train, and retain qualified service personnel.
- Foster a positive, professional, and customer-focused work environment.
Operational Performance & Productivity
- Monitor and improve technician productivity, efficiency, and hours per repair order (HPRO).
- Manage effective labor rate (ELR), customer-pay labor sales, and labor gross profit.
- Improve repair order processes, multipoint inspection completion, and declined service follow-up.
- Ensure accurate repair documentation, quality control, and timely completion of repairs.
- Maintain compliance with Ford and Stellantis warranty policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve shop capacity, workflow, and overall department performance.
Financial Management
- Take responsibility for service department sales, gross profit, and controllable expenses.
- Establish and monitor departmental performance goals and key performance indicators.
- Review financial results and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Manage labor pricing, technician productivity, and service sales performance.
Customer Experience
- Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction and service retention.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Monitor customer satisfaction surveys, online reviews, and service follow-up.
- Ensure service advisors communicate clearly with customers regarding repair recommendations, estimates, and completion times.
- Build lasting customer relationships and strengthen the dealership's reputation in the community.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of dealership service management or assistant service management experience.
- Proven ability to lead technicians and service advisors.
- Strong understanding of dealership service operations, workflow, and financial performance.
- Experience managing technician productivity, effective labor rate, and departmental profitability.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and maintain accountability.
Preferred:
- Previous Ford or Stellantis dealership experience.
- Experience managing a dual-franchise service department.
- Familiarity with Ford and Stellantis warranty procedures and manufacturer requirements.
- Experience improving service department profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Experience recruiting and developing automotive technicians.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $87k- 120k per year, including potential performance-based bonuses.
Starting base salary is determined by relevant dealership management experience, qualifications, manufacturer experience, and demonstrated operational results.
Additional earnings are available through a performance-based bonus plan tied to service department profitability and productivity.
