About this role
Accountabilities:
- Lead and develop the Salesforce team, establishing clear priorities, standards, responsibilities, and development plans while fostering ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for platform incidents, complex delivery decisions, stakeholder conflicts, and critical operational issues.
- Manage team capacity, work allocation, skills development, recruitment support, and relationships with specialist technology partners.
- Own the health, performance, security, and evolution of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
- Establish and enforce Salesforce standards covering configuration, automation, data models, naming conventions, documentation, testing, technical debt, and platform architecture.
- Remain hands-on with complex Flow automation, permissions, validation rules, objects, Lightning pages, reports, dashboards, analytics, and platform troubleshooting.
- Oversee user administration, joiner/mover/leaver processes, delegated administration, routine platform maintenance, and overall platform hygiene.
- Configure and maintain Experience Cloud portals, including external sharing rules, guest-user access, community settings, and partner- or customer-facing experiences.
- Maintain a strategic Salesforce roadmap balancing business priorities, security requirements, operational resilience, regulatory obligations, and platform demand.
- Manage Salesforce lifecycle changes, including seasonal releases, feature adoption, deprecations, sandbox strategies, and environment management.
- Evaluate and govern AppExchange packages based on business value, security, licensing, support requirements, and long-term maintainability.
- Own operational oversight of Salesforce integrations with Slack and other enterprise applications, ensuring reliable authentication, API usage, monitoring, and error handling.
- Establish integration monitoring and alerting standards covering authentication failures, certificate and token expirations, API errors, rate limits, latency, message delivery, and unusual usage patterns.
- Manage connected applications, OAuth scopes, named credentials, integration users, event-driven services, and API consumption.
- Lead incident response and problem management, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are completed.
- Own the Salesforce security architecture, including organization-wide defaults, role hierarchies, sharing rules, permission sets, permission-set groups, and field-level security.
- Apply least-privilege principles, segregation of duties, and regular access reviews to minimize excessive or outdated permissions.
- Govern SSO, MFA, service accounts, integration users, delegated administration, and identity lifecycle processes in collaboration with IT and Security teams.
- Support platform audits and compliance requirements, including SOC 2, GDPR, control evidence, and remediation of identified findings.
- Manage Salesforce licensing, forecasting, utilization, certificate lifecycles, connected applications, OAuth credentials, and associated costs.
- Own delivery backlogs and release processes, ensuring clear requirements, acceptance criteria, source control, peer review, testing, rollback planning, and traceable production changes.
- Manage version-controlled Salesforce releases through GitHub, including branch strategies, pull requests, peer approvals, and documented change histories.
- Promote high-quality Salesforce data through validation, duplicate management, reconciliation, ownership controls, and proactive remediation.
- Provide platform insight through dashboards and reporting covering adoption, automation failures, API consumption, incidents, access risk, release quality, and technical debt.
- Evaluate and support responsible adoption of Agentforce, Salesforce AI capabilities, and related enterprise AI tools, with appropriate data controls, testing, monitoring, human oversight, and governance.
- Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Security, Enterprise Architecture, IT Operations, Data, Integration teams, and external implementation partners.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Salesforce Administration experience in large, multi-team or complex production environments, with substantial hands-on responsibility for administration, configuration, and operational support.
- Salesforce Administrator certification is required; Salesforce Advanced Administrator certification is preferred.
- Proven people-management and leadership experience, including coaching, performance support, prioritization, and development of Salesforce administrators or platform specialists.
- Deep practical knowledge of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud , including security, automation, data management, and service-management capabilities.
- Strong Salesforce security expertise covering organization-wide defaults, role hierarchies, sharing models, permission sets, field-level security, identity, privileged access, connected applications, and audit controls.
- Hands-on experience with Experience Cloud , including external sharing models, guest access, community configuration, and partner/customer-facing environments.
- Proven Salesforce DevOps and change-management experience using GitHub , including version-controlled deployment workflows, pull requests, peer review, and release governance.
- Experience operating API-led integrations, including monitoring, authentication, limits, troubleshooting, failure handling, and coordination across technical teams.
- Experience managing SSL and authentication certificates and maintaining integration health.
- Strong declarative Salesforce development capabilities, particularly Flow, data modeling, validation, Lightning configuration, reporting, and environment management.
- Strong understanding of sandbox strategies, source control, testing, deployment governance, release management, and production support.
- Excellent stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate business priorities and user needs into practical technical solutions while balancing risk and platform constraints.
- Strong solution-design and architecture judgment, with a solid understanding of enterprise Salesforce architecture and data modeling.
- Experience with Salesforce AI, Agentforce, agent design, grounding, guardrails, evaluation, or operational monitoring is advantageous.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms such as Claude or comparable technologies is beneficial, particularly in governed and data-sensitive workflows.
- Experience with Slack platform capabilities and APIs, including enterprise applications, workflows, authentication, integrations, and observability, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Okta or a comparable enterprise identity provider is advantageous.
- Exposure to platforms such as NetSuite, MuleSoft, Celigo, Boomi, Workato, Zapier, or enterprise data platforms is beneficial.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments supporting complex B2B sales and customer-service processes is preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and accountable during incidents and complex platform decisions.
