Associate, Options Clearing

Accountabilities:

- Own daily reconciliation, settlement, and expiration processing across the options book, identifying and resolving breaks before they affect clients.

- Serve as a subject matter expert on OCC and CDCC clearing, including SOLA, exercises, assignments, and institutional options transfers.

- Partner with the Trade Desk, engineering, and other operations teams to investigate trade and position discrepancies and reduce operational risk.

- Analyze large datasets using tools such as pivot tables, lookups, and SQL to identify the root causes of discrepancies and operational inefficiencies.

- Build, improve, and maintain tools and workflows that enable the operations function to scale effectively as options volumes increase.

- Develop and implement processes that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of back-office operations.

- Support early and late working hours on a rotating basis around market events and settlement cycles.

- Escalate issues promptly when required and maintain accurate execution against tight, non-negotiable deadlines.

Requirements:

- 2+ years of experience in back-office reconciliations, settlements, or options clearing, ideally within a broker-dealer or registered investment dealer.

- Working knowledge of OCC/CDCC clearing processes and options operations.

- Strong ability to work with large datasets, identify breaks, investigate discrepancies, and clearly explain their underlying causes.

- Working knowledge of SQL or the ability and willingness to learn and apply SQL quickly in a daily operational environment.

- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy under time-sensitive conditions.

- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across trading, product, engineering, and operations teams.

- A naturally curious and analytical approach, with a strong interest in understanding how markets and technology intersect.

- Reliable, proactive, and comfortable escalating issues early when appropriate.

- Progress toward or completion of CSC, DFOL, or similar industry courses is an asset.

- Familiarity with CDS or DTCC settlement is an asset.

- Familiarity with Claude AI or Claude Code is an asset.
