To date this decade, the IH team has built or is actively developing close to 1,500 modular units demonstrating a scalable, repeatable path to affordability. With the capability to produce approximately 1,000 units per year today, IH is expanding to meet growing demand in San Diego, Los Angeles, and beyond.

We are now entering the next stage of our growth and strengthening every team across the company to achieve our next set of goals. We plan to manufacture and build more than 10,000 units through 2030. To accomplish this, we are implementing the Lean Standard Model company-wide; deploying AI at every level of the company; and positioning IH as a national thought leader in modular development.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting related to the company’s modular home manufacturing operations. This includes tracking, analyzing, and reporting on costs associated with materials, labor, and production. The position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, including job costing, WIP management, and inventory control.

This role will play a key part in ensuring financial accuracy across the full production lifecycle while supporting process improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support compliance with financial transaction recording standards through accurate processing and maintenance of accounting records within NetSuite and other financial systems.

- Assist with account reconciliations and analysis related to inventory, production orders, fixed assets, and other balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.

- Record daily invoices, credit card and bank transactions.

- Contribute to monthly close activities, including preparing schedules, investigating variances, and supporting accurate financial reporting.

- Partner with operations teams to review and resolve production discrepancies and ensure the integrity of manufacturing and inventory data.

- Serve as a key contact for accounts payable processes, helping resolve issues and support efficient invoice processing through NetSuite.

- Prepare accounting reports and schedules for internal management reporting and compliance requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Apply sound knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles and GAAP to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost analysis.

- Produce timely, reliable reconciliations, reports, and analyses, and proactively identify, communicate, and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

- Uphold strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

- Effectively balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

- Perform all duties in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

- 2-3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing using NetSuite is preferred.

- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to gather facts, perform basic analysis, and resolve routine accounting issues using established procedures and guidelines.

- Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

COMPENSATION

- Competitive salary of $73,000-$80,000 depending on experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, standing, and working in a manufacturing environment.
