About the Role
As a Talent & Culture Analyst , you will be accountable for the accurate, timely and well-controlled delivery of Talent & Culture operational processes across the full employee lifecycle in Japan. You will provide proactive support to the Head of Talent & Culture, the Talent & Culture Business Partner Japan, and key local, regional and Group stakeholders.
This role is suited to a high-performing HR professional who can operate at pace, manage competing priorities, and deliver with discipline in a regulated, multinational banking environment. Beyond strong execution, you will bring curiosity, sound judgement, a continuous improvement mindset and a strong stakeholder focus, helping to connect local Japan requirements with regional and global Talent & Culture practices to deliver a simple, consistent and high-quality employee experience.

What will your day look like?
As a Talent & Culture Analyst , you will:
- Deliver seamless Talent & Culture operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee data management and offboarding.
- Provide proactive support to the Head of Talent & Culture, Talent & Culture Business Partner Japan and key stakeholders, helping drive people initiatives and business outcomes.
- Partner with local, regional and external teams to deliver an exceptional employee and leader experience.
- Ensure Talent & Culture policies, processes and controls are consistently applied and aligned with ANZ and local regulatory requirements.
- Produce accurate people reporting and insights to support workforce planning, governance and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve processes, enhancing efficiency, quality and stakeholder experience.
- Manage employee queries and people-related matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
- Support local, regional and global projects, contributing to the successful delivery of strategic people initiatives.
- Build strong relationships across Japan, International Talent & Culture, Group Talent & Culture and business stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes.

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven experience in HR operations, HR administration, or a related people function, ideally within a multinational, regulated, or professional services environment.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Law, Commerce or a related discipline. HR qualifications, knowledge of Japan employment practices, and experience in banking, financial services or another regulated industry will be advantageous.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, self-driven, and highly organised, with excellent planning, execution and follow-through skills.
- Strong stakeholder management capability, with experience partnering with leaders, regional teams, service hubs and external providers.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee data management and offboarding.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations and analysis.
- Strong judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information and regulated processes.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve efficiency.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, using people data and reporting to generate insights and support decision-making.
- Excellent relationship-building, collaboration and communication skills across diverse stakeholders, cultures and geographies.
