We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President – Stress Testing.

Purpose of the role:

This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and well-governed stress testing results and management information end-to-end, including running/consolidating balance sheet and P&L outputs, coordinating stakeholder submissions and regulatory responses, maintaining data and systems and strengthening the control environment through robust documentation, evidence, issue/risk management, and continuous process automation/improvement.

In this role, you will:

- Support end-to-end production of management information and consolidated stress-testing results. Execute and/or support model runs and results production for balance sheet and P&L components including loans, deposits, revenue etc. and produce consolidated results.

- Submitting overlays, journals into TM1, CART etc. and ensure the MI is accurate, robust and aligned with the latest management hierarchies. Collaborate with Group to ensure any PRA submissions are completed timely, liaise on Bank of England queries, prepare draft responses relating to unstructured data requests.

- Perform analysis of stress test outputs including movement/variance analysis, sensitivities, trend reviews, and identification of key drivers. Managing stakeholders to ensure timely and complete submissions. Tracking actions, recording key decision points, distributing meeting materials and minutes.

- Support T-zero data preparation for entity returns, coordinate with Group and ensure data quality throughout the process. Support R&C and coordination of various stress test exercises and related approvals/governance, including coordination of inputs and evidence packs for exercises such as GIST/GRP/RST and relevant UK/Group regulatory requests (e.g., PRA-related).

- Partner with model owners and accountable executives in Business, Risk, Finance to analyse, review and challenge stress test submissions. Support the impact assessment and change implementation for various stress-testing data and systems, including CART, TM1 and maintain key mappings for products, global businesses, MICA etc.

- Implement new models, tools, processes or automated solutions to support any changes in the process or requirements. Build accurate, validated datasets for each stress-testing cycle, with no critical data-quality issues, and develop and maintain validation tools to support review activities.

- Improve efficiency, convert manual spreadsheets to automated solutions by leveraging HSBC artificial intelligence tools and other methods of automation. Ensuring processes are run in accordance with the Control framework and agreed procedures.

- Produce and maintain high-quality stress testing documentation (methodology narratives, process/run books, evidence packs, control checklists, assumptions logs, and decision logs). Providing accurate information status reporting, risk and update on issues.

- Develop and actively manage delivery plans covering key milestones and interdependencies and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely delivery. Support the development and maintenance of process flows, controls, documentation etc., embedding HSBC principles and ensure compliance with risk management framework.

- Support the annual Risk Control Assessment and contribute to ongoing strengthening of the stress testing control environment. Execute and evidence process controls and assurance activities, including maintaining records in relevant tooling (e.g., Helios for controls/assurance, where applicable).

To be successful you will:

- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, MBA or similar.

- Experience: Demonstrable experience coordinating internal and external stress test submissions, with a strong understanding of governance and regulatory expectations. Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent.

- Data and Systems: Strong understanding of data architecture, finance and accounting systems – ability to work with large, complex datasets.

- Presentation and Communication: Ability to present results effectively to senior stakeholders and distill complex messages into understandable plain English for non-technical colleagues. Have confidence to review, challenge and improve submissions while maintaining strong relationships.

- Produce high-quality outputs: Proven ability to produce high-quality outputs, and to write concise, technically accurate papers, with strong attention to detail and clear audit trail.

- Delivery discipline and control mindset: Strong planning, tracking and reporting capability (run books, RAID, milestones). Understand risk management and control frameworks.

- Problem-solving: Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritise effectively and keep delivery moving at pace.

- Tools: Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); MI systems (TM1, CART, Saracen), and knowledge of Workviva, Harmony, RRIS.
