Your role at a glance
The Director, Facilities Security is a leadership role, responsible for owning the safety, security, and compliance of the Data Centre physical infrastructure, equipment, and employees.

This role ensures that security measures are in place and functioning properly at an assigned data center location and also contributes to the development of security processes and policies and enforces adherence thereof across the team.

This role is accountable for the monitoring and maintaining access control systems, alarms, and surveillance platforms, as well as planning and coordinating extra protection and security for executive employees and or other high-risk individuals that visit a data center location.

Additionally, this role is responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture across the team(s) within their remit.

What we are looking for

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversees daily operations for a team of Security Officers; includes regular duties such as planning, scheduling, submitting timesheets, organising, and directing execution of routine and special project work delegated by Security leadership.
Identifying and attracting prime talent by participating in the recruitment process, assessing qualifications, interviewing candidates, and hiring individuals to join the team.
Oversees the development, implementation, and enforcement of security protocols, policies, and procedures to protect the data centre, assets, and personnel.
Oversees Security teams by modelling professional conduct and adhering to security policies and safety regulations at the assigned work sites
Oversees the team members on how to fulfil the special / unique requirements for NTT GDC clients, and ensures requirements are met; includes maintaining a positive and professional demeanour, proper engagement, and establishing client relationships.
Manages the security operations team to ensure data centre and surrounding property is secure and not accessed by unauthorized personnel, or open to sabotage, vandalism or theft.
Manages compliance, security, and records integrity by shift and data centre for client shipping and logistics by performing regular audits and supporting Shipping and Receiving personnel.
Oversees the coordination of Security vendor onboarding indoctrination training in partnership with Deployment Services and Critical Facilities Operations.
Drives the operation of all security related systems on shift, such as access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc.
Gives input to the review utilisation and maintenance of security equipment.
Drives the preparation and review of periodic security reports to clients and internal leadership.
Organises and conducts predefined actions in emergency situations and renders first aid, in events ranging from fire, work accidents, to illness.
Accountable for overseeing documenting procedures and policies to ensure achievement of key responsibilities.
Accountable for the development and establishment processes and policies and enforcing adherence thereof.
Oversees the procurement of essential equipment spares and office supplies for designated staff and shift; this includes maintaining inventory levels and resources are readily available to support the team’s effective performance and daily operations.
Gives input to recommending improvements to recordkeeping software to capture accurate security officer activities.
Works across multiple areas to ensure that Security Guards are on shift meet all NTT GDC Grooming and Uniform Standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
Familiarity with security management, preferably in a data centre or critical infrastructure environment
Excellent knowledge of physical security systems, access control, surveillance technologies, and incident response procedures
Recognition of leadership skills with the ability to learn to motivate and manage a team effectively
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities
Excellent communicator (written and verbal), with ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
Functional in stressful situations, remaining calm while making critical decisions
Able to navigate security technologies and computer systems, including access control systems, CCTV, and incident management software
Familiar with occupational hazards and safety rules
Excellent ability to coach and mentor a team of Security Guards
Excellent ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders by using their good collaboration and engagement skills
Excellent ability to balance and plan the short-term and long-term actions of the team
The excellent ability to manage time effectively while setting the tone of the team through modelling and leadership
excellent customer service focus
Excellent ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent type of qualidation, or equivalent combination of work experience and occupational training / certifications
Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred
CPR/First Aid Certification
Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) certification preferred
Required Experience:
Significant Law-Enforcement and/or Military Schooling, a plus
Significant relevant experience in law enforcement, industrial, commercial, or governmental Significant relevant experience using security systems and tools, for example access control systems, CCTV etc.
Significant experience developing experience in managing a team of Security Guards
