About this role
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies focused on State, Local Government, and Education accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, Superintendents, IT Directors, agency leaders, and other key decision-makers.
- Identify, qualify, develop, and close opportunities involving consulting, professional services, implementation, managed services, cloud, AI, data, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Position Microsoft and AWS solutions across Azure, AWS Cloud, Microsoft 365, Copilot, Data & AI, cybersecurity and compliance, application modernization, infrastructure modernization, and modern workplace initiatives.
- Lead executive-level conversations around digital transformation, cloud adoption, modernization, cybersecurity, operational efficiency, and technology strategy.
- Partner with solution architects, engineers, delivery teams, and strategic technology partners to develop customer-focused solutions and proposals.
- Navigate public sector procurement processes, contract vehicles, cooperative purchasing frameworks, and available funding opportunities.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and opportunity development through negotiation and contract close.
- Develop strategic relationships with Microsoft and AWS teams to generate joint pipeline and identify new growth opportunities.
- Balance new-business development with strategic account expansion and long-term relationship growth.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes and compelling value propositions for executive and technical audiences.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in technology solutions, consulting services, cloud sales, or a closely related field.
- Proven success selling professional services, cloud solutions, managed services, digital transformation initiatives, or complex technology solutions.
- Demonstrated experience developing and closing complex enterprise or public sector opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, particularly Azure, Microsoft 365, Copilot, Security, Data & AI, and Application Modernization.
- Experience engaging executive and technical stakeholders and building trusted relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Strong business development, territory planning, consultative selling, solution-selling, and relationship management capabilities.
- Experience selling into State, Local Government, or Education organizations is preferred.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement processes, cooperative purchasing vehicles, government contracting, and funding mechanisms is an advantage.
- Experience selling AWS cloud solutions and services is preferred.
- Existing relationships within Microsoft, AWS, or public sector technology ecosystems are a plus.
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory considerations affecting government and education organizations.
- Experience supporting cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, AI, cybersecurity, or large-scale digital transformation initiatives is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect technical capabilities to strategic business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities while also expanding strategic accounts.
- Ability to work effectively with executive decision-makers, technical stakeholders, internal teams, and strategic partners.
Benefits:
- Remote position within the United States.
- Base salary of $100,000–$140,000 , plus a commission component.
- Flexibility to work from another location, including an international destination, for up to 30 consecutive calendar days per year .
