Based in Manila or Cebu and reporting to the Finance Services Associate Manager – Global Tax, under the GSSC Group Function Services (GFS) tower.

This role will have a particular focus on ensuring that QBE’s tax compliance and reporting obligations are satisfied for all applicable taxes for the Group, including assisting with tax audits and the provision of ad-hoc tax advisory to the broader QBE business.

- Monitor and review tax reports and returns working paper before sending it to onshore for approval and final sign off.
- Prepare and /or review journal entries (if necessary) for assigned accounts or transactions relevant to the tax being lodged and / or paid.
- Perform the reconciliation process which may include, but not limited to, the following: Beginning Reconciliation
- Matching
- Ageing of Unreconciled Items
- Follow-up of resolution of unmatched and outstanding transactions counterparts
- Review results of investigation
- Lead the team in establishing channels for items requiring resolution.
- Detailed review of reconciling items and follow-up on the status of the investigation
- Provide Associate Manager with the status of the accounts when necessary

- Relief overall champion for issue resolution with additional focus on investigation, enhancement of networking efficiencies, and process improvements
- Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve tax reporting systems and procedures

Work Experience:

Preferred Work Experience includes:

- Some experience in indirect taxes.
- Tax accounting experience.
- Experience in the insurance or financial sector.
- Proven track record of taking active accountability for own workload.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications include:

- Certifications as a tax professional.
- CPA
