Job Purpose
The Priority Banking Relationship Manager is responsible for managing, growing, and deepening financial relationships with High-Net-Worth (HNW) Priority Banking clients. The primary focus of this role is to deliver personalized wealth management solutions, acquire new-to-bank HNW individuals, and achieve key revenue targets through the proactive sale of wealth investment and protection products (Unit Trusts, Structured Investments, Dual Currency Investments, Bonds/Sukuk, and Bancassurance/Takaful).
### Key Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Management & Client Relationship Growth
- Client Portfolio Growth: Build, maintain, and deepen long-term, profitable relationships with assigned Priority Banking clients, maximizing share-of-wallet across wealth and personal banking products.
- New Client Acquisition: Proactively prospect and recruit New-to-Bank (NTB) High-Net-Worth clients through self-sourcing, client referrals, branch leads, and cross-divisional networking.
- Portfolio Health & Retention: Conduct regular portfolio reviews with clients to assess performance against their risk profile and personal financial goals, minimizing attrition and maximizing Assets Under Management (AUM) growth.
2. Wealth Advisory & Product Sales
- Holistic Financial Planning: Analyze client financial objectives, liquidity requirements, and risk tolerance to recommend structured asset allocation and tailored wealth management strategies.
- Wealth Product Execution: Drive sales of fee-based wealth products, including: Investments: Unit Trust (UT), Retail Bonds / Sukuk, Structured Investments, Dual Currency Investments (DCI), and Private Retirement Schemes (PRS). Protection & Insurance: Wealth preservation and estate planning via Bancassurance / Family Takaful solutions.
- Cross-Selling Synergy: Cross-sell retail banking solutions, high-yield deposit accounts, credit cards, mortgages, and consumer financing to provide end-to-end banking solutions.
- Specialist Collaboration: Partner closely with internal Wealth Product Specialists, Investment Consultants, and Treasury Teams to present bespoke investment ideas to sophisticated HNW clients.
3. Risk Management, Compliance & Governance
- Regulatory Adherence: Strict compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Securities Commission (SC), Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM), and internal Hong Leong Bank policies and operational procedures.
- Conduct & Fair Treatment: Execute all sales in alignment with treating customers fairly (TCF) guidelines, ensuring appropriate Suitability Assessments (SA), Fact-Finding (KYC), and full product risk disclosures.
- AML / Operational Integrity: Complete mandatory Know-Your-Customer (KYC) reviews, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, and anti-fraud verifications during account onboarding and continuous transactions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Net New Money (NNM) & AUM Growth: Targets for bringing in new funds and growing overall portfolio value.
- Wealth Revenue / Fee Income: Direct achievement of sales revenue targets across Unit Trusts, Bancassurance/Takaful, and Treasury products.
- NTB Acquisition: Number of new Priority Banking clients onboarded meeting minimum qualifying deposit/investment thresholds.
- Cross-Sell Ratio: Adoption rates of secondary deposit, financing, and digital banking platforms.
- Compliance & Audit Score: Zero critical audit/compliance findings and full adherence to sales conduct standards.
