HR Manager and Payroll Assistant

Scotland's leading independent games studio, Hyper Luminal Games, is looking to recruit an experienced HR/Payroll professional to support the talented team of 60-plus game developers in our Dundee-based studio.

Responsible for managing the studio’s HR operations and assisting with payroll. You will be actively supporting the department Heads and Directors. On average, 70% of your time will be dedicated to the HR role, with 30% for general administrative tasks and supporting with payroll data.

Requirements

Essential

- 2+ years of practical work experience in a small to medium-sized company in an HR role.

- An industry-recognised HR qualification.

- A strong working knowledge of current HR legislation, systems and processes.

- Strong computer admin skills, with experience in data processing and using online software.

- Experience using Google Suite or Microsoft 365 Suite of tools.

- A comfortable understanding of numbers, ability to work with spreadsheets and strong focus on attention to detail.

Desirable

- Experience using Bamboo HR or any other relevant cloud-based HR platform.

- Practical experience of supporting a payroll run and positive attitude to attention to detail and prompt work delivery.

Skills and Abilities

- Good problem solver, positive attitude, and ability to work as part of a small team.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to think on your feet, and excel in planning and organisation.

Duties and Tasks

- Overseeing   recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, supporting performance management, HR policies, and payroll administration.

- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company procedures, keeping relevant admin up to date.

- Act as a trusted partner to the leadership team and Directors, helping build on a positive, high-performing studio culture.
