About this role
As Head of Sales, US, you will lead commercial performance across the US market, driving sustainable revenue growth, deepening strategic customer relationships and spearheading a high-performing US-based commercial team.
The role combines commercial leadership, customer engagement and revenue accountability to maximize growth opportunities across our global events, content, digital media, data and integrated multi-media solutions within the agriculture, food and nutraceutical sectors.
Working closely with category heads, product teams and commercial stakeholders, your impact will be seen through delivering long-term commercial success and the strengthening of our position within key sectors and markets.
This role would require regular travel to New York and key US and international events, as well as fortnightly travel to our Chicago office.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading commercial performance across the US market and delivering revenue growth and customer retention.
- Developing and executing regional commercial plans that support long-term market development and business growth.
- Guiding, coaching and developing the US commercial team to create a high-performance culture built around accountability, customer focus and continuous improvement.
- Driving new business acquisition, account expansion and customer retention activities.
- Identifying integrated partnership opportunities across events, digital media and data products.
- Using customer insight, market intelligence and performance data to inform judgements, and support product development, propositions and future growth opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate forecasting, pipeline management and commercial reporting to support effective decision-making and revenue delivery.
- Collaborating with product, marketing, editorial and events teams to maximize commercial success.
- Representing the team within the market; attending key meetings & events to build and develop strategic customer relationships with senior customers, partners and industry stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- Significant commercial leadership experience within B2B media, events, digital publishing, information services or similar environments.
- Proven success delivering revenue growth through new business, retention and account expansion.
- Demonstrated experience directing, coaching and developing commercial sales teams.
- Experience of multi-product sales environments including events, sponsorship, digital media, content solutions and data products.
- Excellent consultative selling capability, negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills at executive and senior customer levels.
- Strong forecasting, pipeline management and commercial planning, supported by effective CRM & analytics capability.
- Ability to identify market opportunities and translate insight and market intelligence into growth strategies.
- Ability to balance regional commercial priorities with wider organizational goals across multiple sectors, products and stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively across international teams and markets, and travel nationally, as well as internationally.
