Role Description:
The Principal Environmental Advisor (Sustainability) is an exciting opportunity working in our Perth Central Park office.
The Principal Environmental Advisor (Sustainability) will contribute to Synergy’s strategic approach to environmental sustainability, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations, corporate goals, and emerging best practices. This role will be focused on climate reporting, sustainability initiatives, and environmental stewardship across the business, in line with social value.
Job responsibilities:
- Compile and ensure compliance reporting obligations with the National Pollution Inventory (NPI) and National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Support climate risk assessments, transition planning, scenario analysis and climate-related disclosures, while embedding climate considerations into business planning and decision-making.
- Champion environmental stewardship across the business through the delivery of land, water, biodiversity and natural resource management programs, supporting sustainable operations and long-term environmental outcomes.
- Drive circular economy principles and resource efficiency outcomes by leading initiatives focused on waste minimisation, resource recovery, and sustainable procurement.
- Deliver high-quality sustainability reporting, while driving process improvement, automation and reporting transformation initiatives that enhance the integrity, consistency and value of sustainability data.
What you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental, sustainability, physical science or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental or sustainability roles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental sustainability requirements and industry practices.
