Company Description

Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd is a holding company of the Government of Brunei Darussalam established to be the strategic owner of Brunei's Government-Linked Companies (GLCs). We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified candidates to fill the Head of Finance role within the DA Group of Companies in the Agrifood and Food Processing industry.

Job Description

- Oversee the overall financial health of the company, directing all accounting, treasury, budgeting and financial planning functions.

- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous development, accountability, and operational partnership across departments.

- Provide actionable financial insights, variance analysis, and strategic forecasting to the CEO and Management Team to guide operational decisions, expansion initiatives and pricing strategies.

- Lead rigorous cost control initiatives, target costing projects, process constraint analysis, and activity-based costing specifically tailored to the Company's operational needs.

- Ensure accurate, timely reporting of financial results and maintain strict compliance with local regulatory requirements, tax laws, internal policies and corporate governance standards.

- Monitor and mitigate financial risks (including currency, credit and inventory valuation risks) and maintain stringent management of cash flow, bank reconciliations and working capital.

- Design, implement and standardise best-practice financial strategies, internal controls and digital workflow improvements across the Company.

- Maintain and optimise financial system and digital tools to drive reporting efficiency and data accuracy.

- Act as the primary liaison for external stakeholders, including auditors, banks and regulatory bodies.

- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a meticulous eye for detail.

- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex financial data into digestible strategies for non-financial leaders.

- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced production and distribution environment.

- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance.

Minimum Requirement

- Posses Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or related business field.

- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or a Master's degree will be considered an advantage

- At least seven (7) years of working experience in Finance and Accounting field, including at least three (3) years in a leadership role;

- Strong background in cost accounting, budgeting and financial modelling.In-depth command of cash flow management, inventory accounting, bank reconciliations, and statutory reporting;

- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, forecasting models and enterprise resource planning (ERP) / accounting software.

- Familiarity and expertise with SAP or other ERP/financial system is an advantage.

- Possess and demonstrate effective leadership and supervisory skills;

- Demonstrate a high level of initiative and adaptability, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving work environment;

- Demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
