About this role
For an international organization in Lisbon, Portugal, we are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Cisco Nexus/NX-OS, IOS/IOS-XE, Catalyst Center, Cisco Wireless and Network Access Control (NAC).
You will combine day-to-day network operations with a major network infrastructure transformation, acting as the senior technical lead and ensuring changes are implemented safely while maintaining operational stability.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite in Lisbon.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the network environment and troubleshoot issues across wired, wireless, access and core networks;
- Investigate and resolve network incidents, including NAC and authentication-related issues;
- Lead the replacement of legacy Cisco switches with Cisco Nexus/NX-OS;
- Support the implementation of a new Cisco wireless environment, NAC and Catalyst Center;
- Plan and execute network changes, upgrades and ad hoc fixes while maintaining operational stability;
- Improve network monitoring, observability, configuration management and automation;
- Maintain technical documentation and operational runbook.
Profile
- Master's degree and 8+ years of IT experience;
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus/NX-OS and IOS/IOS-XE;
- Experience with network switch upgrades and replacements;
- Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center;
- Experience implementing Cisco wireless networks;
- Experience with Network Access Control (NAC), 802.1X, RADIUS and ISE;
- Strong experience with network operations and change management;
- Comfortable working with network monitoring and observability.
