Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift

# Job Description Summary
The Generator Final Assembly 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer will support the off-shifts by working to solve the team’s technical problems. This individual must be a self-starter, able to work through complex technical issues, and able to communicate well across all three shifts without face-to-face interaction.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Manufacturing engineering tasks - primarily tactical responsibilities Creating & updating work instructions
- Purchasing of & planning maintenance of shop tooling
- Analyzing part drawings and technical process specifications
- Creating shop build documentation
- Communicating technical processes with salary & hourly employees

- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team.

Required Qualifications

- Ability to work 2nd Shift (3-11pm )
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university/college with 2 years of experience in manufacturing leadership
- OR a 2 year Technical Degree with minimum 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role
- OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role
- OR 6 years of military experience in a technical or relatable role

Eligibility Requirements

- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova factory in Schenectady, NY
- This position will mainly support the 2nd shift team (3pm-11pm) but may also be asked to support 3rd shift operations (11pm-7am)

Desired Characteristics

- Manufacturing experience or internship in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Technical aptitude in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with tooling design and/or process improvement.
- Ability to present clearly to manufacturing operators and leadership.
- Experience in writing standard operating procedures.
- Ability to document, plan and execute programs.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $76,300.00 and $114,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
