This role has a hybrid work arrangement in our Boston, MA office.

The Distribution Technology - Direct Sales team is looking for a Software Engineer who is interested in developing large-scale full-stack consumer applications that help protect our customers and mitigate fraud/cyber risk.  As a Software Engineer, you will utilize customer-centric design thinking practices and standard Agile/Lean software development methodology to build innovative solutions that protect customers and support the business.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborative partner: Working side-by-side with product and designer colleagues, you’ll ensure quality through collaborative design and development
- Problem solver: Complex problems often require innovative, creative approaches—and you’ll work to come up with outside-the-box solutions to solve them
- Customer-centric engineer: You understand who we’re here to serve and the applications you engineer will keep the end-user front and center

Qualifications
Qualifications :

- Three years of software engineering experience
- Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
- Proficiency with React, Node.js and GraphQL
- Solid understanding of AWS and serverless/cloud engineering including the ability to build and integrate APIs
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills—and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers
- A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts
- A thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
- Solid foundation in networking, security principles, and cloud-based threat mitigation preffered

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
