About this role

Build solutions that remove friction from critical lending workflows and improve outcomes for clients and operations teams. In this role, you will turn process pain points into well-defined requirements and automated solutions. You will partner across operations, technology, and control functions to deliver measurable improvements. Your work will help strengthen controls, reduce rework, and increase end-to-end throughput.

Job summary

As a Loan origination associate, transformation and automation in the loan origination operations team, you will partner with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate operational needs into clear requirements and user stories. You will map current and future workflows, deliver improvements end to end, and embed controls into redesigned processes. You will help improve cycle times, data quality, and operational resiliency through disciplined change delivery.

Job responsibilities

- Partner with loan origination stakeholders across documentation, credit coordination, and setup and funding to identify automation opportunities and translate needs into requirements and user stories
- Map current-state and target-state workflows (handoffs, exceptions, approvals, data dependencies, and controls) to reduce manual touchpoints and improve end-to-end throughput
- Deliver automation initiatives end to end as an individual contributor, including discovery, requirements, solution design, build or configuration, testing and user acceptance support, deployment, hypercare, and ongoing enhancements while adhering to firm governance and control standards
- Build and enhance business solutions using firm-approved low-code, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools (for example, Alteryx, UiPath, Power Automate, Tableau, or similar platforms) to streamline processes, orchestrate workflows, improve data quality, and deliver operational reporting and dashboards
- Automate and digitize origination activities such as readiness checks, funding readiness tracking, document and package status visibility, credit approval and conditions coordination, exception follow-ups, and standardized reporting
- Embed controls by design by implementing validations, approvals, exception management, audit evidence capture, and monitoring to strengthen operational risk management and improve first-time-right performance
- Collaborate with technology and control partners to align on access, data connectivity, infrastructure needs, release and change practices, and production support expectations
- Define, track, and communicate key performance indicators and realized benefits (for example, capacity creation, cycle time reduction, reduced rework, improved data quality, fewer control breaks, and improved on-time funding)
- Create and maintain documentation and reusable assets (process maps, requirements, standard operating procedures, test scripts, runbooks, and training materials) to support adoption, resiliency, and knowledge transfer

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

- 3 years of experience in loan operations, loan origination or closing, credit coordination, loan documentation, loan setup or booking, funding support, and/or operations automation or business analysis within financial services
- Ability to analyze complex operational processes and data, identify root causes, and develop practical recommendations with a risk and control lens
- Working knowledge of automation delivery practices (requirements, design, testing, deployment, and change discipline) and basic software development principles
- Hands-on experience using one or more firm-approved low-code, automation, and/or analytics tools (for example, Alteryx, UiPath, Power Automate, Tableau, or similar platforms)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to produce analysis, reporting, and stakeholder-ready materials
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across operations, technology, and global stakeholders

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of end-to-end commercial lending origination and common drivers of exceptions (for example, documentation quality, condition tracking, booking accuracy, funding readiness)
- Experience with process improvement methods (for example, Lean fundamentals), controls by design, and an operational risk mindset
- Experience producing delivery artifacts (user stories, process maps, solution design notes, test scripts, deployment checklists, runbooks, and post-release monitoring materials)
- Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes.
