Cortez/Goldrush - Senior Planner with Supervisory Responsibilities

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Underground Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner at our Cortez/Goldrush operations. As part of the Underground Maintenance team, the successful candidate will improve maintenance efficiency using planned, predictive, and maintenance techniques and systems

Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee the development of detailed short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance plans for mobile equipment, fixed plant, or assigned asset classes, ensuring plans are aligned with approved maintenance strategies, asset criticality, reliability objectives, production requirements, and available resources
- Direct the review, screening, prioritization, and coordination of maintenance demand, ensuring work is aligned with production requirements, equipment criticality, maintenance strategy, safety considerations, and resource capacity
- Provide leadership and quality assurance for the development of job plans and work packs, ensuring labor estimates, task lists, tooling, parts, permits, drawings, procedures, and safety requirements are complete, accurate, standardized, and executable
- Lead the development of maintenance budgets based on approved maintenance strategies, asset plans, maintenance demand, historical performance, resource requirements, and planned work scope; establish appropriate cost assumptions and provide budget recommendations to management
- Maintain and manage the assigned maintenance budget and forecasted spend, monitoring actuals, commitments, accruals, forecast-to-budget performance, and variances; identify trends, develop corrective actions, and ensure expenditures remain aligned with approved maintenance plans and business objectives
- Oversee cost forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and cost control for planned maintenance activity, partnering with maintenance, finance, supply chain, and operations to improve cost visibility and financial performance
- Lead the identification and assessment of reliability risks, recurring defects, and maintenance performance gaps, and direct the development and implementation of maintenance strategy improvements
- Oversee schedule compliance, backlog, planned-versus-actual performance, and maintenance KPIs; analyze trends, hold planning resources accountable for performance, and provide recommendations and performance updates to management
- Provide supervisory and functional leadership for maintenance planning activities, assigning priorities and resources, setting expectations, monitoring performance, addressing performance gaps, and ensuring planning deliverables are completed safely, accurately, and on time
- Ensure planning and maintenance execution activities comply with safety, environmental, statutory, company, and site requirements, and provide direction when compliance or planning quality issues are identified
- Govern planning standards, processes, systems, and data integrity across multiple platforms, and establish consistent planning practices, controls, and performance expectations
- Provide oversight of technical maintenance execution and planning effectiveness, ensuring activities are aligned to measurable reliability, productivity, schedule, and financial performance outcomes
- Serve as the subject matter expert and technical leader on complex maintenance matters, providing direction, coaching, and decision support while ensuring appropriate technical solutions are developed and implemented
- Lead the review, screening, and prioritization of maintenance work requests in line with production requirements, equipment criticality, safety considerations, maintenance strategy, and budget constraints
- Provide governance and assurance that planned work adheres to company maintenance standards, OEM recommendations, regulatory requirements, approved maintenance strategies, and budgetary expectations
- Oversee the quality, accuracy, standardization, and continuous improvement of work plans and task lists; coach and develop planners and hold planning resources accountable to established standards
- Provide planning leadership and supervisory oversight for project activities, coordinating resources, deliverables, schedules, costs, and quality requirements while ensuring adherence to prescribed project management methodology
- Lead or oversee root cause analysis for recurring or critical failures and ensure findings are translated into sustainable maintenance, planning, reliability, and budget improvements
- Supervise, mentor, coach, and develop maintenance planning personnel; establish performance expectations, provide feedback, support capability development, and promote consistent application of planning best practices

Qualifications:

- Deep technical understanding of maintenance practices, failure modes, and asset reliability
- Significant mining maintenance planning experience at an advanced or SME level, with demonstrated experience in team leadership and direct supervision
- Proven experience with CMMS (SAP, Oracle, Pronto, JD Edwards, etc.)
- Strong planning, prioritization, and scheduling capability
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, coaching, influencing, and supervisory leadership skills
- Ability to analyze maintenance, cost, and financial data and translate findings into practical action, direction, and corrective measures
- High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
- Solid understanding and applying of MSHA regulations and compliance
- Demonstrated experience developing maintenance budgets, managing forecasted spend, monitoring financial performance, and controlling maintenance costs
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop less experienced planners and promote consistent planning practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of software (Word, Excel, Project, Primavera, Outlook)
