SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Wireline Services, you will lead the design, development, qualification, and lifecycle support of downhole wireline technologies. You will provide technical leadership for complex engineering projects, solve challenging technical problems, and collaborate across global cross-functional teams to deliver reliable products that meet customer and business requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and development of wireline tools and mechanical systems from concept through commercialization.
- Execute complex engineering activities using sound engineering principles, business standards, established procedures, and product or program requirements.
- Perform detailed mechanical analysis, including stress, fatigue, vibration, tolerance stack-up, reliability, and finite element analysis (FEA)
- Develop and review engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, calculations, bills of material, and technical documentation.
- Plan and execute design verification and qualification testing, including environmental, functional, reliability, and field validation testing.
- Write test procedures, oversee or conduct testing, analyze results, and complete clear technical reports.
- Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions for field failures, manufacturing issues, and reliability concerns.
- Support product lifecycle activities, including sustaining engineering, cost reduction, obsolescence mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Reliability, AMO, Service Delivery, Product Management, HSE, and Commercial teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians while promoting engineering best practices.
- Participate in technical and design reviews, including SRR, PDR, DDR, DVR, ECO, and product qualification activities.
- Present technical recommendations, risks, and project status to engineering and business leadership.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, HSE requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality processes.
Fuel Your Passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a bachelor's degree (preferably Masters) in Mechanical Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Have 5-7 years of downhole tool design and development experience.
- Demonstrate expertise in mechanical design, materials selection, manufacturing processes, and product qualification.
- Have strong proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
- Have experience using engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS or equivalent FEA software.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, structured root-cause analysis, and sound technical decision-making skills.
- Have experience with HPHT, high-load mechanical systems, pressure-containing equipment, or harsh-environment product applications.
- Be capable of independently leading technical workstreams and driving engineering deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across global teams.
Desired Characteristics
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in wireline, completions, drilling, intervention, or other downhole technology.
- Knowledge of NACE requirements, ISO/API standards, and oilfield product qualification processes.
- Experience with reliability engineering, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex technical assignments and priorities.
- Strong customer focus, commercial awareness, and the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Experience leading cross-functional or global engineering initiatives.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, compliance, integrity, and technical excellence.
