Forklift Operator
Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator to join a busy frozen warehouse operation in Piedmont, SC. This position involves operating a forklift in a cold-storage environment while picking and handling cases of frozen food products.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to move and position products throughout the warehouse
- Pick and handle cases of frozen food products, including turkeys
- Load, unload, stage, and transport product as needed
- Accurately pick orders according to production or customer requirements
- Inspect products and pallets for damage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and operating guidelines
- Work efficiently to meet daily productivity and order fulfillment goals
- Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operating experience required
- Warehouse or distribution experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment
- Comfortable working in a cold/frozen warehouse environment
- Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull cases as required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work is performed in a cold-storage/frozen warehouse environment
- Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying
- Ability to handle cases of frozen food products
- Must be able to safely perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift
Schedule & Pay
- $18.00/hour
- 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Piedmont, SC
