CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE
Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.
What We're Looking For:
Michael Baker is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join the Construction Services team! The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities on vertical construction projects, including commercial buildings, institutional facilities, municipal facilities, healthcare, higher education, or other building-related projects.
What You'll Do:
- Perform field inspections to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
- Monitor contractor work and identify non-conforming work, deficiencies, and potential construction issues.
- Review submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and material certifications for compliance.
- Conduct quality control inspections of structural, architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as applicable.
- Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, deficiency logs, punch lists, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, project managers, design teams, testing agencies, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
- Verify corrective actions are completed and documented in accordance with project requirements.
- Participate in QA/QC meetings, progress meetings, and project closeout activities.
What You Need to Succeed:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of construction inspection, quality control, or quality assurance experience on buildings and facilities projects.
- MUST be a US Citizen
- Experience with commercial, institutional, municipal, healthcare, higher education, aviation, or industrial facilities preferred.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
- Experience preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining project records.
- Knowledge of SCIF compliance.
Compensation
The approximate compensation range for this position is $40/hr to $55/hr. This compensation range is a good-faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
